  • Deine Fakten, nichts erfunden. Deine eigene Erfahrung, neu geordnet und neu formuliert. Was die Anzeige will und dein Lebenslauf nicht zeigt, wird aufgelistet, damit du es ergänzt – nur wenn es stimmt. Du prüfst ihn, bevor du ihn verschickst.

Could you be the full-time regional Bid Director for Light Rail (f/m/d) we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your strategic and operational expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, dynamic, and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a critical role in shaping Alstom’s success by leading the bid process and ensuring alignment with customer needs and internal strategies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Tender Leaders, Sub-System Bid Managers, and various support functions), coordinate internal activities to influence customer specifications, and oversee the preparation and submission of competitive offers, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of managing tender processes and ensuring compliance with Alstom’s standards, but also lead the development of bid strategies and optimize quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) parameters.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Coordinating pre-tendering activities to identify and understand customer needs and promote Alstom’s solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom’s rules, including ethics, safety, and quality standards.
  • Defining bid operational strategies, analyzing requirements, and identifying gaps to address customer needs effectively.
  • Managing QCD optimization and obtaining clear commitments from internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining tender documentation, including technical descriptions, compliance matrices, and risk registers.
  • Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
  • Facilitating a smooth transition from bid to project execution through collaboration with the Project Director and other stakeholders.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 15–20 years of experience in project or bid management, with expertise in costing, planning, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Alstom processes, including compliance with the “Golden Rules” and Ethics & Compliance standards.
  • Proven success in managing medium to highly critical bids, preferably within Alstom.
  • Strong understanding of offered products, systems, and financial, contractual, and legal aspects.
  • Exceptional team management skills, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging conditions.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and negotiation skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • A high sense of anticipation and the ability to challenge proposals for optimal solutions.
  • Experience with partnership setups (e.g., consortiums or joint ventures) is a plus.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines.
  • Work with innovative security standards for rail signalling.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues.
  • Contribute to impactful and innovative projects.
  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.
  • Progress toward leadership roles or specialized career paths.
  • Enjoy a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
