Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Why Heidelberg Materials

We are more than a global building materials leader. We are a company committed to sustainability, innovation and long-term partnerships. Here, your work will directly contribute to responsible development and help shape the future of Australia's infrastructure.

You will join a supportive, forward-looking team with the tools, talent and autonomy to deliver meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on environmental and planning compliance across WA and SA operations
  • Develop and deliver environmental spatial mapping documents and shapefiles
  • Interpret and communicate changes in regulatory frameworks to internal stakeholders
  • Support project teams with environmental risk assessments, site planning and policy navigation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, traditional owners, community groups and industry bodies
  • Lead and mentor junior team members and contribute to developing internal environmental capability
  • Support research and community partnerships with environmental organisations and local universities

What You Bring

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, compliance or consultancy
  • Proven ability to navigate environmental regulations in WA, with capacity to support SA as needed
  • Strong background in development approvals, clearing permits and environmental risk management
  • Proficiency in QGIS and working with spatial data and shape files
  • Understanding of environmental threats such as dieback, weeds and site contamination
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, detail-oriented and adaptable approach to work
  • Previous experience in the extractive, mining or construction materials industry is highly regarded
