Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

About us:

Join the OneSat programme, one of the major programmes within our Telecommunications and Navigation product lines. This programme delivers high-quality, software-defined satellites, combining industrial series production for Airbus with a highly customised product for the customer.

The programme is organised into Major Modules (PMMs), each focusing on the end-to-end lifecycle of a part of the satellite, such as the payload, mechanical platform, avionics, final assembly line, and ground systems. Each PMM has full multi-project responsibility to develop, qualify, produce, validate, and deliver its part of the programme.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Payload PMM Industrial team for a 12-month internship in Portsmouth. Working in close contact with the spacecraft's production activities (Assembly, Integration, and Test), our team coordinates the various contributors to the project, including supply chain and engineering support. We are responsible for ensuring smooth operations and delivery, which plays a major part in the success of the OneSat programme and our space business.

Our Industrial Management team is at the heart of Programme Management, with members working on every aspect of the industrial process—supply chain, operations, stock, logistics, and scheduling. Solving issues and anticipating them are key parts of the team's day-to-day activities.

What you will be doing:

The successful candidate will be assisting in the following areas:

  • Tracking of equipment delivery to programme (internal and external) in line with production schedule requirements;
  • Coordinate Supply Chain, Logistics, and various production areas (across various sites) to facilitate smooth operations;
  • Support communication between the various major modules (e.g. reporting, trade-offs, analysis etc.);
  • Support the Risk Manager to identify and handle industrial risks and opportunities;
  • Support implementation and application of KPIs and management tools as necessary.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

*Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.*

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Business Management, Project Management or Operations Plan;
  • Basic knowledge of Project and Process Management;
  • Experience in MS Office;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Team player;
  • Out of the box thinking and ability to challenge the status quo will be appreciated.

This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.
