Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Ready for More Than Just Compliance?

If you're a Health & Safety Consultant currently working in consultancy, certification, auditing, engineering, construction, property, or professional services and feel you've reached a plateau, this could be the career move you've been looking for.

At Bureau Veritas, we're looking for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Consultant to join a growing, highly respected team delivering strategic health, safety, and fire safety support to a diverse portfolio of national and international clients.

This isn't a role where you'll be confined to a single sector or repeating the same audits week after week. Instead, you'll work with a broad range of organisations, tackle complex challenges, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape positive safety cultures across multiple industries.

Why Make the Move?

Broaden Your Experience

Work across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries, developing your expertise beyond a single sector.

Become a Trusted Advisor

Partner with senior stakeholders, helping organisations navigate compliance, risk, and safety culture challenges.

Accelerate Your Career

Benefit from structured development, professional support, and clear progression opportunities.

Join a Global Leader

Be part of a world-renowned organisation with a strong reputation for excellence, integrity, and technical expertise.

The Role

As a Senior Health & Safety Consultant, you'll provide expert consultancy services to clients across the UK and Ireland, supporting them in achieving compliance while improving their overall safety performance.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality health and safety consultancy services.
  • Conducting health and safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and advising on fire safety compliance.
  • Supporting clients with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and management systems.
  • Investigating incidents and producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Delivering training, workshops, and safety briefings.
  • Building strong client relationships and becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Supporting organisations in developing positive, sustainable safety cultures.
  • Advising on UK and Ireland Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting ISO 45001 and wider management system implementation and improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically credible, commercially aware, and passionate about helping clients improve their health and safety performance.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • CertIOSH as a minimum, with CMIOSH preferred.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification.
  • Fire Risk Assessment qualification and practical experience.
  • Experience within consultancy, certification, engineering, construction, facilities management, property, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and compliance reviews.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to influence and challenge professionally at all levels.
