About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Calypso Developer to join a newly formed technology team supporting the Capital Markets operations of a leading European banking organization.

This is a unique opportunity to help build a team from the ground up and play a key role in the evolution, support, customization, and enhancement of a large-scale Calypso environment used across Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, and Back Office functions.

The role also offers long-term project stability, exposure to complex financial products, and the possibility of future internalization with the client after a certain period of collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Calypso customizations and integrations.
  • Support production and business-critical Capital Markets activities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, support teams, and architects.
  • Develop Java-based solutions within the Calypso ecosystem.
  • Optimize performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement enhancements.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical best practices.
  • Participate in system upgrades and strategic platform initiatives.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Calypso.
  • Solid Java development background.
  • Experience with Oracle/SQL databases.
  • Understanding of Capital Markets and financial products.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures.
  • Ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent English: C1

Nice to Have

  • Experience in investment banking environments.
  • Calypso upgrade or migration projects.
  • Linux/Unix administration knowledge.
  • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices.
