Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Job Description

Zendesk is redefining how the world delivers service. In addition to our world class CX & service platform, in under three years, we’ve built a $200m ARR AI business - the fastest-growing product line in our history - now used by more than 20,000 customers. AI is automating up to 80% of service interactions, and we’re just getting started.

If you want to build a career in software sales on the bleeding edge of AI and technology, this is where you do it.

Why this role matters

Our BDR team is the engine behind one of the world’s fastest-growing region. You’ll be hunting into high-growth SMB, Commercial and Enterprise accounts, opening doors at some of the most recognisable brands across Australia & New Zealand, and shaping how they adopt AI for customer experience.

You won’t be scheduling meetings. You will be uncovering real pain, building value, and influencing multi-million-dollar deals from the very start.

This is a role for people who want to learn fast, think big, and build a serious career in tech sales.

Why Zendesk

You’ll be joining a hyper-growth AI product engine, a world-class APAC GTM team, and a culture that rewards curiosity, grit and impact. You’ll be hands-on with the most advanced CX & AI technology in the market and gain exposure to some of the most talented sellers and leaders in the region.

If you want to sell at the frontier of AI - with a team that’s winning - this is your step in.

What you’ll do

  • Engage exec-level prospects to understand where their CX, AI and Service gaps sit
  • Drive high-value pipeline through targeted outbound prospecting
  • Partner closely with Account Executives, Product and Marketing to run coordinated plays into priority accounts
  • Qualify opportunities with a consultative, value-led approach
  • Own and manage your pipeline with discipline, clarity and a premium customer experience
  • Be part of an onsite team (3 days a week in Melbourne) that learns, iterates and grows together

What you bring

  • 2+ years in a sales or business development role (SMB, Commercial or Enterprise)
  • A competitive, resilient, self-starting mindset
  • Curiosity for AI, SaaS and modern GTM motion
  • Clear, confident communication - written and verbal
  • A strong desire to build a long-term career in software sales
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
