Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Victoria, BC location. This person will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar equipment.

Qualifications
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
- Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
- Previous Caterpillar mining equipment repair experience would be considered an asset

Major Job Functions
- Troubleshooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
- Interact with customers, products and sales support
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Note:
- Shift work may be required
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
- Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
