Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

  • Prepare high-quality reports, statements and representations for court proceedings where required, with appropriate supervisory support.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection, professional and multi-agency meetings and forums.
  • Chair meetings where appropriate and provide professional social work advice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Children's Services and partner agencies, including education, health and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local procedures.
  • Work within relevant legislation, statutory guidance, professional standards and Council policies.
  • Promote positive relationships with children, young people and families and ensure their voices and wishes are reflected in assessments and plans.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and positive outcomes for children and families.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Social Worker who can demonstrate:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

  • Experience undertaking direct work with children, young people and families.
  • Excellent safeguarding knowledge and understanding.
  • Experience working effectively within multi-agency environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality assessments, reports and care plans.
  • Ability to work independently while making effective use of supervision and professional support.
