Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse mechanical systems in a dynamic environment where your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge make a measurable difference every day.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and related mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical system failures using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands-on troubleshooting techniques
  • Respond promptly to building occupant service requests and emergency repair calls to minimize downtime and maintain comfort
  • Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and adjust equipment settings to optimize performance and energy efficiency
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to coordinate major repairs, installations, and system upgrades
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, equipment, and building systems to identify potential issues before they escalate
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and JLL's standards for quality and environmental stewardship

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a technical training program in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and mechanical building systems
  • Working knowledge of boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, motors, and associated control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system interfaces
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, ServiceChannel, or similar platforms
  • Experience working in corporate, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial facility environments
  • Vocational training or associate degree in mechanical engineering, carpentry, or related field
  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification
  • Familiarity with cGMP guidelines and FDA regulations
  • Experience with specialized pharmaceutical equipment
  • Advanced computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering
