Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Position Summary:

As the Director, Strategic Social and Communications Operations, you will lead the digital engagement engine, executive visibility channels, and operational backbone for global corporate communications. Operating at the intersection of brand reputation, technical storytelling, and operational rigor, you will transform how the company connects with infrastructure leaders, enterprise engineers, partners, and investors worldwide.

You will direct a multidisciplinary team responsible for social media, digital performance content, speaker placements, and comms operational intelligence. Your mandate is to scale modern Communications Technology (CommTech), elevate global share of voice, optimize multi-channel distribution, and connect communications activities directly to measurable business outcomes.

This role reports directly to the VP of Communications. It carries management responsibility for the social execution team and the metrics and analytics function. Beyond the communications team, the Director of Strategic Social and Comms Analytics operates as a senior cross-functional partner across marketing, product, partnerships, and other business functions — and engages regularly with executive stakeholders to align social strategy with broader organizational priorities. Success in this role depends on the ability to build trusted relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and drive integrated outcomes across teams that do not share a reporting line.

Responsibilities:

  • Digital & Social Media Strategy
  • Architect the global social media strategy across organic channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, regional platforms), positioning the company as the premier authority in engineering and infrastructure technology.
  • Channel Rationalization: Assess and restructure our three primary social channels — YouTube, LinkedIn, and X — to ensure each is properly organized, optimized for its audience, and performing against clear targets for audience growth, engagement, and referral traffic.
  • Oversee community engagement and advocacy, expanding employee amplification programs and partner co-marketing initiatives.
  • Establish digital crisis protocols, collaborating with PR, Legal, and Product teams to monitor brand sentiment and manage rapid response workflows.
  • Communications Operations & Commtech Enablement
  • Modernize the communications technology stack (social listening, publishing workflows, media intelligence, CMS, and digital asset management).
  • Content and Story Scoping- Identify and prioritize the stories and content types that will have the greatest resonance and impact with each audience segment. Work closely with the storytelling function to connect strategic insight to content production.
  • Tone, Style, and Format Standards- Establish our social tone of voice and visual/format standards across written, video, visual, and audio executions — giving the team clear guardrails for consistent, on-brand content at scale.
  • Drive workflow governance and agility, building standard operating procedures (SOPs) for content intake, reviews, compliance, and global localization.
  • Manage external agency partners and operational budgets, ensuring maximum return on investment across external tool vendors and specialized contractors.
  • Performance Content & Editorial Engine
  • Audience Strategy-Define which audiences matter most and what they need from us. The five key segments are: industry watchers and cognoscenti, existing users, future users and prospects, developers, and partners in our partner ecosystem. This audience intelligence will inform content decisions across all communications functions, not just social.
  • Steer the tactical blog and performance content roadmap, aligning technical deep-dives and engineering thought leadership with SEO and digital lead conversion targets.
  • Turn complex engineering software concepts (e.g., digital twins, AI modeling, structural simulation) into accessible, high-impact digital narratives.
  • Bridge brand narrative with demand generation, ensuring digital comms assets support product marketing campaigns and global field programs.
  • Cross-functional program management, coordinating across PR, storytelling, analyst relations, executive communications, and external partners to drive integrated execution and resolve dependencies.
  • Executive Visibility & Speaker Bureau Leadership
  • Direct strategic executive visibility programs, placing senior leaders and technical fellows on premier global industry stages, keynotes, and panel sessions.
  • Lead the US Speaker Bureau, scaling speaker enablement, pitch abstract curation, executive coaching, and on-site activation.
  • Drive speaker bureau measurement, tracking executive influence, audience reach, and pipeline touchpoints stemming from event engagements.
  • Performance Analytics & Business Impact
  • Define unified communication scorecards and dashboards, moving beyond surface metrics (impressions, clicks) to evaluate brand sentiment, share of voice, and pipeline influence.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with marketing and executive leadership, translating communications performance data into strategic business insights.
  • This role will have 4 direct reports (Social Specialist; Tactical Blogs & Performance Content Lead; Senior Manager, Operations, Metrics & Performance Enhancement; US Speaker Bureau Leader).
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Qualifications:

  • 10–14+ years of experience in digital communications, corporate social media, or communications operations, ideally within B2B SaaS, enterprise engineering software, or complex technical industries.
  • 4+ years in direct people management, with demonstrated success coaching specialized, high-performing operational and creative teams.
  • Demonstrated track record scaling digital operations within a global organization ($1B+ revenue scale).
  • Deep proficiency in modern CommTech/MarTech tools, including social management platforms (Sprinklr, Sprout Social), listening suites (Brandwatch, Talkwalker), CMS platforms, and analytics systems (Google Analytics 4, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Superior executive stakeholder skills, with experience counseling C-suite leaders and translating engineering-centric technology into corporate narrative.
  • Exceptional content creator and content strategist: you understand what makes content resonate, can develop it yourself across written, video, visual, and audio formats, and know how to match content type and story to the right audience at the right moment.
  • Deep expertise in audience mapping: you think in segments, can define what each audience needs and why, and translate that understanding into content decisions that drive meaningful engagement — not just impressions.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong point of view: you don't just execute, you set direction. You can look across channels, audiences, and business objectives and develop a coherent social strategy that others can rally behind.
  • Highly effective in complex, matrixed environments: you are comfortable working across organizational silos — communications, marketing, product, partnerships, and executive teams — and skilled at building alignment, managing competing priorities, and driving integrated outcomes without direct authority.
  • Collaborative integrator: you bring teams together. You can identify dependencies, bridge functions, and synthesize inputs from many stakeholders into a clear, actionable plan.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills: you can operate comfortably with senior leaders and earn credibility quickly — both through the quality of your thinking and your ability to communicate it clearly.
  • Analytically grounded: you set measurable goals, track what matters, and use data to refine strategy and demonstrate impact.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Brand Authority & SOV: Increase in global digital Share of Voice (SOV) against primary industry competitors.
  • Audience Engagement Quality: Sustained growth in verified B2B engagement rates across key decision-makers (C-suite, engineering directors).
  • Operational Efficiency: Reduction in end-to-end content production cycle times and unified cross-channel intake adoption.
  • Executive Impact: Tier-one event placement volume, audience rating averages, and post-event pipeline influence.
  • Digital Traffic & Conversion: Organic referral traffic growth from blogs and digital communications into primary brand and product domains.
