Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Job Title

Sr. Support & Post-Release Quality Engineer

About Your Role

As a Sr. Support & Post-Release Quality Engineer, you will bridge the gap between production engineering, product support, and release quality. You will be a critical technical line of defense responsible for maintaining the health, stability, and performance of our suite of cutting-edge back-of-house web applications, point-of-sale APIs, and Android client applications across millions of live merchant devices.

In this hybrid role, you will own post-release defect triage, root-cause analysis (RCA), and field issue reproduction, while proactively driving manual, automated, performance, and load testing. You will collaborate daily with Cloud Engineers, Android Developers, Product Owners, and Site Reliability Engineers to investigate complex production edge cases, build diagnostic tooling, and ensure sub-second reliability for our global platform.

What You Will Do

  • Post-Release Defect Triage & RCA: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Product Support and Technical Success teams to investigate, reproduce, and isolate root causes for complex production issues reported from the field.
  • Full-Spectrum QA Testing: Design, execute, and maintain manual, automated, regression, and post-release validation test suites across Android native client applications, web dashboards, and point-of-sale REST APIs.
  • Performance & Load Testing: Perform load, stress, and performance testing on web services, cloud infrastructure, and mobile endpoints to identify latency bottlenecks before and after production deployments.
  • Proactive System Observability: Monitor observability tools (Sentry, New Relic, Splunk, Datadog) to identify error trends, memory leaks, and performance anomalies in production before customers report them.
  • Tooling & Diagnostic Automation: Build custom internal scripts, diagnostic utilities, and automation tools for yourself and support teams to streamline log extraction, issue reproduction, and field remediation.
  • Bug Story Documentation: Write detailed, technical bug reports and documentation—including step-by-step reproduction scripts, log extracts, and root-cause analysis findings—to unblock core engineering teams.
  • Incident Management: Participate in after-hours incident management as part of an on-call rotation to resolve high-severity production outages or critical regressions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Android Engineers, Cloud/SRE teams, and Release Management to keep technical information flowing and advocate for quality improvements in product backlogs.

Experience That Would Be Great to Have

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservice architectures, and Docker/Kubernetes containerized workflows.
  • Observability Tooling: Prior experience setting up and interpreting dashboards in Sentry, New Relic, Datadog, or Grafana.
  • POS & Fintech Domain: Previous background working with Point of Sale (POS) hardware/software, payment transaction gateways, or e-commerce platforms.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience integrating automated test suites into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Harness release pipelines.

How you’ll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Sponsorship:

  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.
