Sales and Demand Planner
Elemis · New York, United States · full time · On site · today
Why a CV for this job?
- They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
- It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
- In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
- Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.
Description
ELEMIS are looking for a commercially minded Sales and Demand Planner to join our Planning team. Reporting to the Director of Sales Planning and Data Analytics, this role will own sales and demand planning for the department store portfolio, acting as the planning lead for each account and a trusted partner to the commercial team.
The ideal candidate combines analytical rigour with sound commercial judgement and is confident turning data into recommendations that shape forecasting, inventory and growth decisions across the business.
What You Will Do:
- Department Store Account Ownership: Own end-to-end sales and demand planning for Nordstrom, Macy’s and Bluemercury, under the guidance of Planning Director, serving as the primary planning point of contact for each account and partnering with account leads and retailer planning teams to deliver against sales, inventory and margin targets.
- Demand Forecasting and Planning: Build and own SKU-level sales and demand forecasts for assigned accounts, incorporating historical performance, seasonality, promotional calendars, marketing initiatives and new product launches. Lead the monthly SKU deep dive and demand review, driving forecast accuracy and taking accountability for variances.
- Inventory Strategy and Optimisation: Manage inventory health across ELEMIS and retail partners, using sell-through rates and Weeks of Supply (WOS) to set replenishment and stock-level recommendations that maximise availability, limit excess inventory and protect sell-through.
- Performance Reporting and Commercial Insight: Own weekly and monthly performance reporting for department store accounts, delivering actionable insights to channel leads and topline summaries to Commercial Directors that inform trading, promotional and investment decisions.
- Business Decision Support: Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain, translating analysis into recommendations that influence assortment, launch quantities, promotional plans, and annual and in-season financial plans.
- Growth Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and size growth opportunities and risks across doors and e-commerce by SKU, building the business case and presenting recommended actions to account leads and senior leadership.
- SKU Lifecycle Management: Own the SKU Changeover and Discontinuation tracker for assigned accounts, setting runout dates and coordinating product transitions with retail partners to avoid supply gaps or excess stock.
- Process Improvement: Champion improvements to planning tools, reporting and processes, and share best practice across the planning team to raise the quality and speed of decision-making.
What We Are Looking For:
Sales Data Analysis and Reporting: Ability to retrieve, validate and analyse sales data by SKU, retailer and channel, producing accurate reports that highlight performance trends, risks and growth opportunities.
Demand Forecasting and Commercial Judgement: Ability to build and own demand forecasts using historical sales, recent trends, seasonality, promotional activity and sales and marketing input, including for new product launches.
Inventory Analysis and Stock Optimisation: Ability to assess SKU-level inventory across ELEMIS and retail partners, using sales rates and Weeks of Supply (WOS) to recommend stock levels that support availability and limit excess inventory.
SKU Lifecycle Coordination and Planning Accuracy: Ability to maintain accurate changeover and discontinuation trackers, monitor expected runout dates and coordinate timely updates to support smooth product transitions.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and channel teams to gather planning inputs, clarify assumptions and communicate findings that support coordinated decisions.
