Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

RWE Offshore Wind GmbH

To start as soon as possible, full time, fixed term

The Senior O&M Concept Manager will define and develop the operations and maintenance approach for offshore wind projects in Japan, from development through final investment decision (FID). The role will integrate safety, availability, cost, risk, contractual strategy and local delivery capability into a coherent operating concept.

You will work closely with development, engineering, procurement, commercial, finance, HSE and joint venture partner teams. Acting as the project O&M interface, you will ensure that operational requirements are embedded in key project decisions.

You will strengthen RWE’s local O&M presence in Japan by establishing safe, practical and commercially effective operating models for offshore wind development projects. You will own the O&M strategy, concept development, organisational set-up and OPEX cost book, with a focus on minimising cost, maximising availability and maintaining a balanced approach to risk.

About the role

Lead and steer the development and implementation of offshore wind O&M concepts and strategies for RWE’s Japan pipeline, with a specific focus on the Murakami Tainai Offshore Wind Farm project.

Deliver the O&M concept, lifetime cost base, availability submissions and organisational set-up needed for a successful FID.

Coordinate resources across Offshore Operations and the wider business, maintaining continuous exchange between the project and the wider Operations organisation.

Build trusted relationships with project joint venture partners and develop local, regional and international O&M networks and supply chains.

Lead the development and set-up of the O&M organisation, reflecting the joint venture structure, local market conditions and a balanced risk perspective.

Manage and evaluate design concepts, technical solutions and risks, and prepare decision papers to support technical and commercial decisions.

Provide operational and technical expertise, including assessment of emerging technologies supported by appropriate technical due diligence.

Prepare and manage O&M contracts, including tender documentation, bid evaluation, supplier negotiations and negotiations with port operators, ensuring effective contract delivery.

Job requirements and experience

Degree-level education in mechanical or electrical engineering, project management, relevant business or finance disciplines, or equivalent offshore wind experience.

Substantial professional experience in offshore wind O&M, including O&M leadership.

Proven project management experience, including leading teams on high-value projects.

Experience working with joint ventures and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Advanced communication and leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, strong integrity, reliability and initiative, and the ability to analyse complex issues, manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work in a structured manner.

Strong interest in operational workflows, processes and technical functionality, together with a strong commitment to health and safety, a strong HSE focus in an industrial environment, and preferably knowledge of local regulatory and HSE requirements.

Willingness to travel within the region and internationally, visit offshore assets and spend time away from base location when required.
