Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

The Role

We’re looking for a Systems Operations Specialist to join our Canadian Equities team in Toronto, reporting to the Manager of Systems Operations. In this role, you’ll help keep our trading platforms stable, reliable, and ready to support clients in a fast-moving market environment.

This is a unique opportunity to combine systems operations, market operations, and client support. You’ll fit right in if you’re technically curious, comfortable communicating with clients and internal teams, and energized by solving problems that have a real impact on the Canadian capital markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and support production systems to maintain the reliability, availability, and performance of our Canadian equities platforms.
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance Linux and AWS-based infrastructure, including supporting the team’s continued migration to AWS.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and real-time application issues, working closely with developers and other technology teams to resolve problems.
  • Support clients and internal stakeholders by responding to technical and operational questions clearly and effectively.
  • Build and improve automation, operational workflows, documentation, and runbooks to reduce manual work and strengthen platform support.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience supporting production systems, cloud infrastructure, or systems operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Linux administration, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the Linux command line.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and regulated environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting real-time, highly available, or business-critical applications.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, CI/CD, networking, security, and tools such as Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or GitLab.
  • An interest in capital markets, trading technology, or financial services.

This position will be located in Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
