Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Want to start your career building technology that makes a real difference to human health?

At SPT Labtech, we make products that change the way scientists work. For more than two decades, our scientists, engineers and business innovators have built world-leading solutions for liquid handling, sample preparation and sample management. Researchers around the world use them to move faster on the science that matters.

Whether you’re looking for a summer internship or your first graduate role, you could be part of it.

Two ways in

  • Summer Internship 2027: a paid internship, typically around three months, for students who want real experience before they graduate.
  • Graduate opportunities: permanent, full-time roles for students graduating in 2027, available when the business has openings.

Where you could make your mark

  • Software engineering: test the code that controls precision lab instruments, and help it work perfectly every time.
  • Mechanical engineering: design, prototype and refine the systems inside our instruments, from CAD to the workshop bench.
  • Electronics engineering: work on the circuits, sensors and control systems that bring our hardware to life.
  • Manufacturing: improve how we build our products, from the production line to the finished instrument shipped to a customer.
  • Science (biology and chemistry): run the experiments our customers rely on, and help prove what our instruments can do in the lab.

What you can expect

  • Paid from day one. Every internship and graduate role is paid.
  • Real work. You’ll own projects with clear outcomes that make a difference to our products and customers.
  • A mentor from day one. An experienced engineer or scientist will support you, help shape your work and guide your development.
  • A cohort of peers. You’ll join other early careers starters on site, with regular check-ins together, and we’ll act on your feedback.
  • Room to grow. Interns are among the first we consider when graduate roles open, and graduates build their careers with structured support.

Who we’re looking for

  • Internships: undergraduate and master’s students.
  • Graduate roles: final-year students and recent graduates.

You should be studying, or have studied, engineering (software, mechanical or electronic), computer science, physics, biology, chemistry or a related subject. You don’t need industry experience. We care about curiosity, hands-on problem solving and wanting to know how things work.

How it works

  • Register your interest with your CV any time between October and March, and tell us whether you’re interested in an internship, a graduate role or both.
  • We’ll be in touch when roles open that match your interests.
  • Shortlisted candidates have a call with our Talent team, then have an interview on site and then a decision will be made on who we offer the position to with feedback ongoing through the process.
