Why a CV for this job?

94% of employers say their filters drop qualified candidates whose CV does not match the ad's exact criteria (Harvard Business School, 2021).

  • They see what they asked for, first. Your experience that matches the ad leads, in the ad's own words, so someone skimming finds it in seconds.
  • It gets past the software. Many larger employers use software that ranks CVs by how closely they match the ad, often before anyone reads them.
  • In the language of the ad. An ad written in Spanish gets a CV in Spanish, even when yours is in Portuguese.
  • Your facts, nothing invented. Your own experience, reordered and reworded. What the ad wants and your CV does not show is listed for you to add, only if it is true. You check it before you send it.

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Risk Manager to strengthen financial and operational risk management across its international payments business. The role will focus on safeguarding funds, managing foreign exchange exposure, assessing counterparty resilience, and supporting compliance across European and Asian markets.

About the Client

An international payment services provider supporting complex cross-border payment flows for businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor balances held with banks, payment service providers (PSPs), and other third-party providers.
  • Manage foreign exchange risk by minimising losses on multi-currency conversions and settlements between Europe and Asia.
  • Assess the financial stability of counterparties, including banks, payment gateway providers, and major merchants.

  • Prepare regular reports on operational losses and financial resilience for senior management.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of risk management experience at a fintech, electronic money institution (EMI), payment institution, or bank with cross-border acquiring operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of card schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay; alternative payment methods (APMs); and cross-border clearing.
  • Familiarity with European regulatory frameworks, including the EBA Guidelines on ICT and security risk management, and Asian risk management standards for payment systems.
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills. Experience using AI tools is an advantage.
  • Upper-intermediate or advanced English for working with international partners and regulators.
  • Fluency in Russian.

What We Offer

  • An international environment at the intersection of European and Asian markets.
  • Professional growth on a large-scale fintech project.
  • Relocation support to Cyprus.
  • A competitive salary aligned with experience.
